NATO invaded Serbia. For this reason alone I think Russia has a right to fear NATO expansion. Since NATO is an invasion pact the demonizing of Putin for invading Ukraine is hypocritical propaganda.
The people who demonize Putin and Russia for invading Ukraine do so as if Russia was the first country to invade another country. It is not that I have a problem with someone demonizing Putin. I just have a problem with people not demonizing all invaders. We are the good invaders and Putin is the bad invader is not a realistic way of thinking.
If the USA is justified for all their invasions why isn't Putin justified for invading Ukraine? Ethnic Russians were being killed in Ukraine. Russians have their excuses to invade just like NATO had their excuses to invade Serbia. That is how propaganda works. You justify your own invasions and condemn others.
If you believe that some invasions are just invasions you should consider the possibility that you have been influenced by propaganda.
@Ponderable saidAlbanian Muslims tried to steal Kosovo from Serbia so it resulted in a civil war. NATO intervened in that civil war taking the side of the Muslims and helped them steal Kosovo from Serbia.
So please give an analysis around the so called Blakan war after the decay of yugoslawia.
Please look at what was don by whom and how the internatioal community reacted.
The only reason NATO took sides with the Albanian Muslims is because they were important to the heroin trade. To hide that, propaganda was stoked up to make Milosevic seem like a war criminal. He was just a nationalist trying to preserve the union like Abe Lincoln did. Milosevic's defense was sound and knew he had to defend himself at court and rejected other lawyers he knew would never defend him properly and would have exposed that kangaroo court run by the empire. He conveniently died of a heart attack before that could happen.

NATO is not the international community. How did Russia, Iran, NK and China react?
@Metal-Brain saidNATO invaded Serbia because Milosevic was trying to eliminate the Albanian population. NATO does not need to demonise Putin. He is already a demon and needs to be assassinated. NATO should have gone in there and cleaned up Russia way back when East Germany fell. Socialism / Communism like Islam, needs to be eradicated.

The Muslim Albanians were trying to steal Kosovo from Serbia. No nation puts up with that. If Mexicans tried to steal Texas what do you think would happen?
Wow @Metal-Brain, how far do your hamdlers go in reframing history?
NATO is part of the Heroin trade?
And that these Albanians, who you accuse of "stealinG" the Kosovo were the oes who had lived there since generations is not even worth some consideration?
To call you a fool would mean to elevate you to higher levels than you deserve...
@Metal-Brain saidRussia's *present* dictatorial, expansionist government intent on war and ethnic cleansing has a lot to fear from NATO, as they should. NATO should kick Russian a.sse.s back into Russia. And we will, eventually. 😆
For this reason alone I think Russia has a right to fear NATO expansion.
NATO is a democratic alliance of democratic nations. NATO requires unanimous votes of agreement, which is the main check on NATO power.
On Feb 9, 1994, NATO voted unanimously (Greece abstained but did not veto) to intervene in the Bosnian conflict. If someone asks, "doesn't this mean that NO country in the world is free to commit ethnic cleansing and genocide? Won't ANY nation that invades its neighbors and tries to wipe out their populations as the Bosnian Serbs did at Srebrencia or Serbs did in Kosovo live in fear of NATO stopping them?"
And the answer, thank God, is yes. Yes, they should fear NATO. Because NATO is unlikely to hold with expansionist dictators - Serbian, Russian or otherwise - and might very well punch them in the nose.
Go live in fear, Nazi. It's your turn to be afraid. 😆
@Metal-Brain saidThe Ottoman Empire sort of created this mess. But there comes a point where you just have to suck it up and let the past stay there and live in peace. NATO needs to take this view and its simple. ... Stop the war and the killing, but kill any greedy and powerhungry leaders who start these conflicts while the population pays the price. Take the leader out, and the war ends.

In the case of Mexico, I think they know what is going to happen if they do that so they wont. It is a good thing to have a powerful neighbour who does not interfere with you, and at the same time allow you to live as you wish.

Israel is. Isn't it?
@Metal-Brain saidIsrael responded to a horrendous attack from Gaza, and killed say 43,000 people out of 2,200,000 Gaza residents. Do the math .. thats less than 2% of the population, which is hardly ethnic cleaning.

Like the ethnic Albanians in Kosovo? You are silly. Milosevic would have stopped those Muslims if not for NATO intervention. Russia could help Mexico take Texas like NATO did for Kosovo. All to protect drug traffickers.

The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) emerged in 1996, and its sporadic attacks on Serbian police and politicians steadily escalated over the next two years.
By 1998 the KLA’s actions could be qualified as a substantial armed uprising. Serbian special police and, eventually, Yugoslav armed forces attempted to reassert control over the region.

@Metal-Brain saidJust like there is no such thing as capitalism. You are just being petty. In any case, the leaders of all those types of countries should be killed because they abuse their population.
Russia is not and never was communist. It is a socialist nation. Communist nations do not exist and have never existed.
