Opening the border and letting 20 million illegal immigrants in and claiming that the border was secure strikes me as being treasonous also, are you on board with putting Joe Biden up against a wall too?
You are lucky we don't shoot people for lying. 😆

You are not capable of a civil discussion on any matter pertaining to American pollitics. Anyway according to the facts USMC was a significant step forward in trade relations in North America.

The important thing is to establish who started the tariff war and when. So far your contribution is too emotional to be of any help. Maybe just go have a beer or something.
Be civil, and I'll be civil back. Be insulting and I'll insult back. 😆

I'll even forgive once in awhile, and be civil even when you are uncivil.

In Game Theory this is called the 'Generous Tit for Tat' strategy, and it is remarkably efficacious. Which is why I employ it almost exclusively in these Forums. 😆

Funny how you are not capable of seeing who started the first insult. Its like who started the first tariff. Is it always Trump? The first insult in this thread was your comment to me ... Now get your head out of Trump's a$$ for a minute...

So far we are trying to get some facts. At least I tried to pull some and make a contribution. What is yours so far?

I'm not really clued up on tariffs, but the EU seems to be in the firing line. (For retaliating itself).
Do you know if imported American wines are taxed by the British?

Probably subject to VAT.

I show my opponents no generosity or forgiveness across the board. Chess needs to be brutal. (The forums, less so).

Biden Administration slaughtered 100 million chickens at the end of his term, then blamed Trump for the ridiculous surge in egg prices.
At any rate, eggs have now dropped for the 3rd week in a row and are now at 3.99/dozen where I live, with prices projected to continue dropping for the next few weeks.
Cry about something else, Trump is delivering on his promise, a ...[text shortened]... ay it would happen instantly on his first day, he said he'd start working on getting the price down.
No doubt the slaughter led to an increase in chickens crossing the border illegally (mostly I suspect from Canada) to take up the demand. (Americans it seems are reluctant to become chickens and provide their own eggs) So now there's fentanyl and chickens, the poor Americans have no choice but to take the drugs, of course, and what is life without a cheese and mushroom omelette?

What was the reason for the slaughter?

Hint: It was not (at least superficially) to increase the price of eggs...

Chess is not the same game as the Prisoner's Dilemma. 😆

What was the reason millions of Americans lost their jobs right at the end of Trump's first term?
I seem to recall the Dems blaming it all on Trump and then taking credit for the gain in jobs after covid went away, claiming Biden magically created them when everyone went back to work.
Funny, that.
Now the Dems are doing the same, claiming the increase in egg price was all Trump's fault and ignoring the return to normal prices.

Where, pray tell, is this magical land you live in where egg prices are "back to normal"?

The number was never 20 million.

One of Trump's more blatant yet persistent lies.

It WAS 12 million, now it's coming out that Biden was lying about even that and hiding the real numbers. Latest estimate is 20.

I have been looking around for some information on tariffs between EU and the US. Info seems vague or confusing. If you have please share it if you dont mind.

Prior to Trump what tariffs were imposed between the US and EU, on alcohol, and on steel and aluminum.

In the case of Canada it appears that Canada was taxing US imports into Canada for years. Trump's tariff imposed this year was simply a retaliation.
When you going to read something?

Who created the trading program for North America?

Give you a hint. The North America Free trade agreement, NAFTA promoted free trade across Canada the US and Mexico. And Trump's contribution to it was to rename it what again? And our great art of the dealer did what now?

Tarriferize a free trade agreement that who put in place? You're joking if you are ignorant of this fact.

I have been reading. Apparently you have not, and you still keeping your hatred of Trump intact. It appears that both Mexico and Canada were doing stuff contrary to NAFTA causing disputes. So Trump deveoped the USMCA, which dealth with resolving trade conflicts. Open a Fosters and have a read.

Under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which was in effect from 1994 to 2020, both Canada and Mexico were involved in various disputes and claims.
Canada's Involvement in NAFTA Disputes:
Claims Against Canada: Canada faced the most claims under NAFTA's Chapter 11, with a total of 41 claims brought against it between 1995 and 2018. Many of these claims involved challenges to Canadian regulations and policies, such as environmental assessments and bans on certain chemicals.
Notable Cases: In cases like Bilcon and Ethyl, Canada was found to have breached NAFTA obligations, leading to financial settlements.
Mexico's Involvement in NAFTA Disputes:
Claims Against Mexico: Mexico also faced ISDS claims under NAFTA, though fewer than Canada. Some of these cases involved disputes over investments in sectors like energy and agriculture.
Notable Cases: While specific details on major violations are not widely documented, Mexico was involved in several ISDS cases, often related to regulatory issues.

Transition to USMCA:
Both Canada and Mexico transitioned to the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which replaced NAFTA in 2020. The USMCA includes changes aimed at reducing the number of ISDS claims and improving dispute resolution processes.
