This is yet another example of how we conservatives know 'wrong' when we see it, and libs gloss it over, but we never really know why. How you, some with children, can justify this for the good of your causes, causes which are to, really, let everything hang out. And the sad thing is, that because of the new liberal age which has just taken seed, this indictment will get short-shrift and we will be looking at a new sickening lessening of humanity on the horizon. Have fun. You folks are indeed not the people who are mentioned in the Constitution. Ben Franklin would not have gotten Cuties. @suzianne saidYou make this thread about Texas, your cohort above, asks about elections. I cannot fathom the minds of liberals.
Because, you know, Texas.
Uh oh. I guess you will answer what gas fathom got to do with it, then MG says Fathom rhymes with random, off you go holdinghands through the lolipops.
Children.
@averagejoe1 saidReality Check: The days of Howdy Doody, and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm are long gone. This is nothing more than a feel good legal exercise. Kids today have access to an internet full of lewd stuff. Cuties is mild by comparison, I promise the kiddies won't be emotionally scarred, so spare me your moral outrage. The Conservative policy of keeping the blinders on the kids until they're 18, then turning them loose on the world is just plain looney.

@mchill saidSuzianne? MG? Handy? Do you see how elegantly and eloquently Mchill commented on the subject post? You could gain some insight from this, to contribute thoughtfully to the Forum, so that we may all come to an understanding months down the road.

@averagejoe1 saidHaving already ridiculed this absurd "prosecution" (https://www.redhotpawn.com/forum/debates/is-netflix-guilty-of-child-abuse.186735/page-29) - which will almost certainly be withdrawn after the Tyler County DA gets some face time on some of the Fox News shows - I see no reason to waste further time doing so again here.

"There are 3,141 counties and county equivalents in the 50 States and the District of Columbia". https://www.usgs.gov/faqs/how-many-counties-are-united-states?qt-news_science_products=0#qt-news_science_products
I imagine Netflix is available in all of them. They all have county prosecutors of some sort, but only one came up with the idea of prosecuting the company's executives for an award winning movie that has been critically acclaimed due to its supposed lack of any "literary or artistic merit".
Assuming he actually went to law school, he surely knows this is a completely baseless attempt at prosecution. So this is nothing but a publicity stunt that if he pushes through for any length of time is likely to lead to a successful lawsuit by Netflix for malicious prosecution and civil rights violations. I'm assuming that not even a Texas backwoods prosecutor is that dumb, so this "attempt" won't last ling.
@no1marauder saidMarauder says he will 'waste no more time' but yet rails on for 3 paragraphs.

In a nutshell, he feels that there is nothing wrong with showing children in this setting. And, ,McHill says above that we all need to (I think this is what he is saying,...)... get used to the idea of the new world for children. He doesn't mention tattoos, but I think he is suggesting that we send our sons to his neighborhood to be taught about the 'real world', the facts of life, by their daughters. Creepy.
@cheesemaster saidThis will give you an idea.
I didn't watch the movie.
Has anyone here watched it?
I might watch just to see what all the fuss is about but I heard it was in French?
These girls are eleven years old.
@mchill - This is nothing more than a feel good legal exercise.
You could make the same baseless claim about any high profile indictment.
In the meantime, they stand accused of violating a law.
@vivify saidFirst paragraph in the article:
Okay children. Settle down.
Instead of getting another bicker-fest, can anyone actually state what specific charges are being brought? And what evidence is being used in those charges?
"A grand jury in Tyler County, Texas, is charging Netflix with “Promotion Of Lewd Visual Material Depicting A Child,"
As far as evidence, THE MOVIE is the evidence.
@dood111 saidWhat specific scenes will be used as evidence? Emphasis on "specific".
