We are talking about civilians commiting mass murder. They don't need guns to do it.
Gun laws won't change anything when it comes to mass murder.

When you turn on the news and see a mass killing with no guns what will you say then?

Remember Timothy McVeigh? He killed 168 people with a truck and fertilizer bombs.

People will kill people with anything.

Using this as an excuse to do nothing about guns is the worst kind of stupid.

I would not punish people that had nothing to do with it.

The police were warned a number of times about the gun club this nutcase belonged to. The existing NZ gun laws were sufficient to prevent the shooter being in possession of these weapons, but they were not acted on.

Do not blame innocent people, do not punish innocent people, do not paint all gun owners with the same brush, how many times do we hear that exact thing about muzzies.
