Um, they might be the Silver Ferns. Or I could be getting mixed up with another NZ national team.

Netball is the Silverferns.
Other national teams have names based around the colours white and black, the word all and ferns or sporting equipment from that sport.

That is correct. The members of the representative NZ International Netball Team enjoy the title of "Silver Ferns" in recognition of that hardy indigenious plant unique to Aotearoa.

The ball can be made smaller and harder.
Replace the hoops with 3 smaller stumps.
Use 22 yards of rolled, flat grassy surface instead and make an elliptical boundary around this.
Hands are too easy, rather use wooden bats to try and hit the ball.

its a great game, it could be improved if they allowed lifting to assist the shooters (as in rugby lineouts)😵
