“ NEWSOM’S REOPENING CRITERIA

Gov. Gavin Newsom spelled out six criteria Tuesday that California must meet before the state’s stay-at-home order to protect against coronavirus spread can be modified or lifted:

1 Widespread testing that would allow the state to isolate people exposed to the virus and trace people with whom they have come in contact.

2 The ability for the state to care for older and medically vulnerable Californians, who are most at risk of suffering severe effects from the virus, as they continue to isolate at home.

3 The capacity for hospitals to handle a potential surge in patients, plus resume normal preventive and other medical care.

4 The identification of promising treatments.

5 The development of guidelines for businesses and schools to allow physical distancing even as they reopen.

6 The creation of a data-tracking system that provides an early warning if the state needs to reinstate a stay-at-home order.”

Sounds perfectly reasonable and seems to cover all the bases, in short, it’s not gonna happen is it.

Yes but Trump be saying “ "I will ... be authorizing each individual governor of each individual state to implement a reopening — and a very powerful opening plan — of their state at a time and in a manner as most appropriate," Trump said.” - CNN

This is like Picard showing up in time to say make it so.

Desperate people will erode *anybody's* orders to "stay down". Trump's, Newsom'e, anyone's.

On the whole, though, I do think Trump wants to rekick the economy more than most state leaders.

😂 it looks mad when you put them all together like that but at the time each individual ‘make it so’ made perfect sense and always brought the episode to a satisfactory conclusion.
Trump on the other hand never makes any sense and you know any strategic decision he makes is gonna be good news for the ‘Borg’.
Also authorising isn’t the same as compelling or ordering, if trump authorised me to do something I was going to do anyway I’d probably have a serious rethink.

In other words, Trump is a lot more willing to have people die to help his re-election chances than governors are.

And in his subsequent remarks he’s already washed his hands of any C19 blood, at least in his own mind and the putative minds of his fans.

Maybe his opinion will change when all other states open and businesses leave California.

California seems well positioned to compete for business. Let’s watch for a while.

Your level of empathy is exactly on the same plane as Trump.
That is, ZERO.
You figure, so what if old farts die, we need to open up the country.

That will get more than just old farts dying and you know it.

You just don't give a shyte.
