It seems as though the government of Nigeria, or at least its governer Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, is appointing Muslims in governmental positions and building Mosques in large numbers as churches are being burned around the country. One such church that was burned down was being rebuilt, only to be attacked by Muslim fanatics chanting, 'Death to Christians, death to infidels.' This is despite the fact that Chrisitians constitute well over 2/3 of the population in Nigeria. Is ethnic, or should I say religious cleansing to be done next as it has been done and is being done by the Islamic Sudanese government?

From the About US section of the cite: Compass Direct is a Christian news service dedicated to providing exclusive news, penetrating reports, moving interviews and insightful analyses of situations and events facing Christians persecuted for their faith.

I can't find any verification of the claims made on any reputable, unbiased source. Can you?

BTW, the CIA Factbook and InfoPlease both give Nigeria's population as 50% Muslim, 40% Christian and 10% indigenous religions.

That is really f-ed up. I'm not sure what there is to debate here though.

Here's something to debate: What is the role of the US in situations like this? I want to hear from the international community. What is your own country's role in this? I mean - should any outsider step in? If so, who?

Good point. Why is this only on websites that are named stuff like "christianpersecution.com"?

I think the future is in an internationally recognised power base, this would have influence. . . United nations yes if it had international respect and power. . .Unfortunately any nation that acts alone undermines and moves the world further away from any idea of unity. The concept of unification beyond nationhood is still a pipe dream. . .

Bush is evil, but there is no evil, and everyone knows that violence only leads to more violence, so, i'm pretty sure that evil Bush will make a violent move on those poor innocent brothers over in Africa .. and then we'll take all there stuff and laugh at the rest of you fools in Europe.

... ha ha hee f-in hee .. we're Americans, we're loud, we're proud and we blunder thru your world doing and taking what we want.

You know it's true.

Do nothing. What has it got to do with anybody else what internal strife is going on in that country.

Well,if you really, really want to help, perhaps lobby to have your country evacuate those who want to leave.

You are correct, that isn't one of the times to say no.

If you read up on your history, you'll find that Norway was well respected for it's role in the war, particularly the resistance. Even though the entire population of Norway was a fraction of the numbers that live in your average American city, the Germans were not given an easy time.
