This is a valid point. Liberals often accuse Conservatives of being uneducated, so I hope this lady got an earful about that. If she is supposed to be a press secretary, the President should expect better communication skills than this. She owes everyone a public apology.

These gaffs are always good for a laugh I wouldn’t want to see an end to them and it’s hardly the end of civilisation as we know it but it does point to a disappointing level of literacy and awareness, how could get through life and not know how that is pronounced.

She has a Master's degree in Public Administration from Columbia University, I think Columbia owes her a refund.

Well, to be very modest about that:
In my experience Americans don't care overmuch about correct pronounciation.

So I am a bit surprised about this. Some guys would have said: That is a nothingburger. If other US citiznes would have made the very same error.

Even small children know how to pronounce Nobel Prize.
Because that's the only way they have ever heard it pronounced.
That is until this press secretary came along.
Speaking of which....didn't Barack "Corpse-Man" Obama go to Columbia too?
Maybe they should look at their curriculum.

Just because some muppet from harry potter says it’s not the correct pronounciation, doesn’t mean it isn’t.

You can say it either way.
Unlike Legos. That just isn’t a thing.

    No, you can't.
There is only one correct way to say it.

    British pronounce tomato as tomahto.
They DON'T pronounce Nobel as noble.
Nobody does unless they are ignorant.
    Same with corpsman versus corpse-man.

I suggest you listen to a Scottish accent pronouncing nobel “no bell” and suck it up as he head butts you for being a moron and taking off with your sister to do her good.

Or listen to king Charles prounce it “neu-bl” before orders a Scot head butt you and take off with your sister to do her better than you do.

And both these pronounciations are correct as well.
