It seems I don't like big corporations.
Imagine someone not liking Exxon for gosh sakes!
The other one tells you whether you like to make up your own mind or have it made up for you by your "betters" or worse yet, you think that you are better!

Political participation is absolutely encouraged. People are allowed to directly vote online on a wide variety of legislation, which in turn plots their point on their lifetime political graph. Those who do not participate in the system are not eligible to hold public office.

As this country is constitutionally defined as a left wing, libertarain countr ...[text shortened]... institutions are incompatible with a left wing, libertarian country. They are of little concern.
My concern here is that the people selecting the questions and
providing the political scale will still be in charge. They will be able to
hoodwink people into believing they have a left-wing leader by
altering the questions to reflect a right-wing stance.

Somewhat similar to what we have already.

Yes, yes, you can raise innumerable scenarios as to what "could" happen. But I'm sure there are plenty of equitable solutions to minutia of that nature without me spelling everything out in excrutiating detail. The question is: are we to be so terrified of the unknown that we forgo any chance for a better system and willingly stay with an inequitable system that has the sole advantage of being a known quantity?

I'm almost bang in the centre (slight lean to the right, slight lean to authoritarian). I find that quite surprising, as as I get older I get more reactionary in my views. Perhaps there is a kinder, gentler ivangrice trying to get out?

try to imagine what the younger ivangrice would have answered and retake it, then you can plot a trajectory and see where you'll be when you're 80.

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.10

With a combined -9.1, I see that I am barred from immigration to rwingett’s country, based on the arbitrary litmus-test for meeting their authoritarian, imposed standard of left/libertarianism. 😉

Yes. However, there's nothing, verily and sooth NOTHING, worse than the self-righteous so you ain't gonna miss much.

The constitution is not set in stone. If you have some modifications, please chime in. It just seems like my country because apparently I'm the only one capable of generating any ideas for it.

Let's assume that our country still finds some use for a legislature and a President. Instead of electing these people by a vote, I propose that our country be a meritocracy. The people who had the lowest combined score on their lifetime political graph would automatically assume their position in the legislature.

The economic costs/incentives should be kept neutral, including any dislocation costs. Former legislators should be barred from any accepting any lobbying-related positions for, say, 5 years after leaving office.

My wife scored -4.88/-5.59 = -10.47. She'd be a great citizen for your country. But she says she's not going to emigrate without me (maybe).

We could have some kind of guarantor system.

If a qualified person vouches for a person who doesn't meet the criteria, (provided they're close - maybe a 2nd level criteria?), they could act as a guarantor. The person they vouch for would be allowed in, but they'd be on license - one bit of right-wing drivel and they'd be deported.
