... The electorate rush to the extremes ...
The DUP, who represent the, largely protestant, loyalist vote, and are headed by Ian Paisley have 9 seats.
Sinn Fein, who represent, the mostly catholic, Republican vote, got 5 seats.
The other two parties, the UUP (unionist) and the SDLP (nationalist) got 1 seat, and three seats respectively.
This election result has confirmed recent voting pattern trends: that the electorate are moving to the extremes.
What do people think about this?
Maybe I am too close to it. I am conflicted in the feeling that it could potentially be good, since these extremes will no longer be, literally in some cases, sniping from the sidelines. But on the other hand, the DUP's mandate could encourage them to be oblivious, and more entrenched.
