"Not Dead Yet is a national disability rights group which opposes the legalization of assisted suicide and euthanasia, because of the lethal danger to this nation's largest minority group, people with disabilities.
Since 1983, many people with disabilities have opposed "right-to-die" proponents who have advocated that people with severe disabilities should receive suicide assistance, not suicide prevention. Our opposition was ignored, and many people with disabilities have already died as a result.
No proposed law authorizing physician-assisted suicide applies to all citizens equally, but singles out individuals based on their health status in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Current trends in managed care and health care rationing have already reduced and threaten to further diminish the availability of health care and related services needed by people with disabilities."
"It's the ultimate form of discrimination to offer people with disabilities help to die without having offered real options to live."

founder of Not Dead Yet

It is a disgrace to call people who warn for unwanted (?) developments in the field of euthanasia,
like the disabled people of "Not Dead Yet", "Chicken Littles" like BBarr or even "right wing Chicken Littles" by No1Marauder.
This type of namecalling has no place in serious discussions about matters of life and death.

And just how many options are you going to offer someone who's been in a coma for 15 years? A GAME OF MONOPOLY TO CHEER HER UP???
Obviously euthenasia has to be judged so that misuse of the rule is kept to a minimum, but sometimes....just sometimes....it's so bloody clear-cut that...
Ach...
what the hell do I care?

Do you think it is appropiate to call people who warn against certain developments, like the people of
"Not Dead Yet", names like the ones Bbarr and No1 are using ?

I have no idea why No1 stoops to treating your allegations with even a modicum of respect.

My criteria for debate are just the criteria for debate, as many folk in these threads have been trying (unsuccessfully) to point out to you. I'm not trying to control, you Ivanhoe. I actually find your posts quite amusing. I am trying to inform you that if you want to be treated with respect in the debate forum, you should try and actually engage in debate.
Cheers!
