whenever a country has numerous nukes,
and they have the ability to drop them on almost any city around the planet,
they suddenly gain the status of being an accepted nuclear power.
massive diplomatic gains are reaped.
this is only encourages other countries to follow.
what can be done to encourage ALL the nuclear powers to completely disarm?
which governments ...
(and i say governments, because the country behind the government will, hopefully, almost certainly, disagree with such a decision)
.... have the ability to destroy almost any cities they like, several at a time?
the nuclear hall of shame:
USSR
USA
Britain
China
France
India
Pakistan
(Israel? North Korea?)
and who else?

Just to get the usual gang of idiots going, maybe something about Gabriel blowing his trumpet? Or, we can go symbolic and copy and paste something about Elijah's chariot?

even mentioning it on rhp may mean that it blossoms into fruition!!!!!
think hard.
the possible rewards are massive for everyone !!!!
The idea of mutual anniliation seemed to work back in the days of the cold war. Those seem to be behind us now. When you face an enemy who is not afraid to die, or in fact take the whole world with them. To what ends does peace avail?
I guess men will always strive to make a bigger better sword.

but do they have the ability to deliver to multiple cities around the world?
... i do not know this.
if they have then ... shame ... shame as for the others.

or are you just wanting to collapse in a heap and resign yourself to a pathetic fate?
something can be done, i do not know how exactly,
but i am sure something can be done.
the problem is incredibly simple; surely the solution is too.

1. This ends this crap we call civilisation
2. It will really bum the people out who are reaping in sacks full of cash selling the weapons (they don't think nukes really gonna be used)
3. The rest of NATURE will be thankful to have most of us removed
4. It will be the best fire-works display you've ever seen.
See. There is no logical reason not to do it.

Why stop at nukes? Why not just throw away all of our weapons? Think of all the money we would save, war would be over and peace would reign.
Yeah, right.
So we get rid of all nukes, I then ask you this: What happens if one less than benign country doesn't get rid of their nukes? Obviously Saddam never had any because inspectors have, of course searched evry single square inch of his country and found none, but someone equally vile as him could get some. Then what? Do you believe they would refrain from at least threatening with this enormous advantage they have been given?
Besides which, even if all the current nuclear powers did sign a treaty or whatever to get rid of all their nukes, do you really believe they actually would?

Since they already did sign a treaty argeeing to do just that and have violated it for 35 years, I guess we know the answer. The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, in effect since 1970, provides:
Article VI
Each of the Parties to the Treaty undertakes to pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament, and on a Treaty on general and complete disarmament under strict and effective international control.
While some attempts have been made to limit the increase in the number of weapons systems by the nuclear powers (usually for economic reasons), at no time has a "Treaty on general and complete disarmament under strict and effective international control" been EVER discussed by the major nuclear powers. And, in fact, the nuclear weapons in existence today are far more deadly than the arsenal in 1970 due to technological advances, even though the actual number of warheads and delivery systems is somewhat less.Remember that the major nuclear powers are in clear violation of the NPT the next time you hear them whining about other countries supposedly not "fulfilling their international obligations" under the treaty.
