Nuclear power is possibly the most contentious and emotive of all methods of energy production, due to the nature of the material involved and long term consequences of accidents. Nuclear power stations currently produce about a quarter of Britain's electricity. Many are now too old to continue to operate efficiently and safely and are being closed down. By 2023 only 4% of Britain's electricity will come from nuclear power

The £73 billion cost of decommissioning nuclear power sites could be increased "significantly", the head of an influential committee of MPs have warned.

Surelly it never made that kind of money?
It counts for around 11% of the worlds energy.

Back of the envelope calculation suggest that it's possible. In 2006 nuclear production was around 70 TWh and prices were at 11.89 pence per KWh.

This makes 8.323 billion pounds per year of revenue. I don't know what the operating margins are for nuclear, so even if it's possible, it sounds unlikely if you consider the cost of the initial investment.
