Washington Post: the McCain campaign distributed a statement from John Murtagh whose house was fire-bombed by members of the Weather Underground in 1970 -- "Barack Obama may have been a child when William Ayers was plotting attacks against U.S. targets -- but I was one of those targets. Barack Obama's friend tried to kill my family."

The truth is that he doesn't like the Spanish and if elected that will be the first place that we go to war, followed by Michigan. I know it is a state, but they just slapped McCain around a bit and they are gonna get what they got coming to them.

Originally posted by der schwarze RitterThere isn't a shred of evidence that the bombing of Judge Murtaugh's house had anything to do with the Weather Underground. All of their bombings occurred at public buildings (once they bombed some police cars) and were acknowledged i.e. bragged about in statements given to the media. It's far more likely that the bombing was conducted by the Panthers (he was presiding at a Panther trial).

The only people the WU killed was a few of themselves in the Greenwich Village explosion on March 6, 1970.

btw: Ayers was recently awarded the Chicago citezen of the year award, and is a tenured prof. He doesn't sound too much like a terrorist to me.

Originally posted by der schwarze RitterSo bombing citizens is ok as long as they're not US citizens and you call it military action.... riiiiiight
To compare a military action to a terrorist action shows your logic is off and your moral compass is broken; therefore, we have nothing more to say to each other, you liberal schmuck.
Originally posted by mrstabbyYou certainly are dense -- here I just explained to jlily that it's wrong to compare a military action to a terrorist action and you go making the same faulty argument again.

Originally posted by der schwarze RitterDo you think the notion of state-sponsored terrorism is contradictory? Would the attacks still qualify as terrorism, or would they then be military action? If the latter, would the attacks then be morally better, worse, or the same as if they had been terroristic?

Originally posted by der schwarze RitterOK. The Luftwaffe bombing London, or the Allies bombing Dresden, were somehow morally different than Umkhonto we Sizwe letting off car bombs in Pretoria, or the IRA blowing up the Horse Guards. Please explain. Is it the uniform that makes the difference?
