For many, many months I have been saying here and elsewhere, two village idiots have had the office in succession. Obviously, these two are idiotic marionettes with strings being pulled by puppeteers. Most likely the very same puppeteers!

Now there seems to be surprise when you see new "uh, umm, uh" stammering "ah, well, uh, uh" village idiot following policies introduced by old tongue-tied village idiot. (about which you complained endlessly) Not only with pictures named in this thread title, also reneging on Guantanamo closing, date to leave in Iraq, discontinueing detainees military tribunals, and the list continues.

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

Question:
Why is Obama going to ignore abuse from US troops? and how would the release of those photos endanger US troops?
It's called: One good turn deserves another.
The more the image of US soldiers mistreating people is implanted in people's minds, the more likely US soldiers are of being mistreated when they get captured.

yeah, but if start covering up abuse, people will lose faith in the government, and the Obama admin. will soon become just an old product with a new package, nothing changes.

It is probable that US soldiers will be mistreated if captured anyway.

Another thing is that the pictures are probably going to be released in any case - I think they've already been ordered to by one level of courts.

I do approve of more that Obama has done than Bush - especially in foreign affairs. I think opening relations more with Cuba was/is a good idea and actually talking to other countries, even our enemies, is also something Bush didn't do like Obama seems to be.

Maybe there are very good reasons for doing so that can't be released to the public.
I don't think there is any secrets whatsoever on this matter. We all know there were abuses (or there wouldn't be any photos), but seeing the actual photos is likely to anger the Afghans- even those that currently support the US. Its the same as the decision not to show the coffins of dead US soldiers returning home. We all know the numbers and it is no secret who has died, but the image of coffins angers the people far more than plain statistics.

The United States doesn't have to torture. We can hire that out overseas. Like everything else.

I agree. Bowing to foreign leaders, giving the ghetto bump and shake to dictators, opening up relations w/ a country that allowed the Soviets to plant missles off the coast of Florida targeting 11 major U.S. cities. Thats some great insight !

Well, not talking to people has done what?

Refusing to talk to Cuba had done SO much good. Cuba's practically a democracy now since that method has worked so well!

Bowing? Oh yeah, that's about as bad as Bush taking romantic hand in hand strolls in the park with them.

Giving the ghetto bump (whatever that really is) to dictators? You mean Chavez who was democratically elected? Is that what you call a dictator? Yeah, that's going to cause the fall of western civilization 🙄

Obama is right to open dialog to these countries. Refusing to even talk to people has caused ZERO progress.
