Obesity crisis-The same scale as global Warming

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/health/article2658640.ece

I read this headline the other day and then I thought do they rally expect me to believe this, I'm sure Bangladesh will be be quite pleased.

Then I read another headline:
"Half of all people will be obese by 2040"
and I thought: which half? Top or Bottom, Just the legs or the gluttonous maximus too!

Government hyperpole does us a fat lot of good.

Maybe they think that if too many of these fat people go for a swim at the same time it will cause the sea-level to increase by the same amount as global warming will.

I wonder what number of people would tip the balance?

i feel that weight charging shgould be introduced on all forms of transport, especially air travel. the passenger and his baggage should be weighed and charged per unit of weight. its only fair !
ps- unless the increased methane emissions could be connected to the fuel tanks via a rubber hose 😉

People would rightly complain of discrimination. I see your point, but for people with weight conditions that don't arise from eating 3 big macs a day it's not right. Maybe they should give small/light people some type of deal! It would also provide people bound for beach vacations more incentive to shed some pounds!!

Is the evidence for this being weighed up in a balanced way?
