While the US government is dispensing millions of dollars in resources to treat balloons as an existential crisis, a small town in Ohio finds itself engulfed in what actually looks like the apocalypse. Perhaps by design, all of the drama surrounding violations of US airspace by Chinese spy initiatives has done well to keep what is becoming one of the worst environmental disasters in recent memory from getting any headlines.

Five of the cars contained vinyl chloride, which becomes hydrogen chloride and phosgene when burned. Phosgene is a deadly gas that was used in chemical warfare during World War I.

At least the news is covering it now, but they do not mention dioxin and the names of other highly toxic chemicals being released. They are not talking about how the fires were started intentionally by officials either. Where is mayor Pete? He needs to explain this to people. Where is Biden? He will not go there because it is so unsafe. Right?
Presidents are supposed to go to disaster areas to reassure people he cares. Remember when Jimmy Carter went to a nuclear power plant after a meltdown to assure people it was safe? This is like Ohio’s Chernobyl. Biden will not go anywhere near it and I heard they are arresting reporters for going there. I could see them being ordered to go away for their own safety, but arrest them? What for? To suppress the story so people don't know how toxic it really is?
