Yes my friends, of all the former Secretary of State,
only one, sides with PUTIN....... MIKE POMPEO
appointed by.....drum roll.........TRUMP, yes #45.
Pompeo calls Putin a, ''talented,'' ''capable statesman.''
https://news.yahoo.com/only-one-former-secretary-state-160444530.html
After yesterdays events he walked his praise of Putin, back a bit,
saying, ''The Ukrainians are the victims. We should
never shy away from that.''

It's weird. We have a major political party in the US trashing their own government, siding with a country who is invading an ally, refusing to show up to nomination hearings for national security posts, all of which undermines the power and effectiveness of US foreign policy.

Why are they working directly against the interests of the country they work for? Because making Biden look bad benefits them politically.

The GOP has come seriously off the rails. Reagan must be turning in his grave.

Really? IYAM, this started with Reagan. Maybe even Nixon. It's worse now, but I can't remember a Republican party that wasn't completely self-serving.

Fawning over a known enemy of the West was not Reagan's deal. "Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" he declared. Trump has been Putin's obsequious poodle all along, and the GOP is utterly blind to it.

They supported Clinton's push towards budget balancing, including cuts for the bloated military. That's the last time I've seen Republicans interested in compromise.

That was, really, a GOP darling.
