“Newt Gingrich: “I think what you’re seeing tonight is one tree in a forest, and I think we are drifting towards the greatest Constitutional crisis since the 1850s, uh, and the rise of secession and the Civil War. I don’t mean that as hyperbole. Uh, if you read Andy McCarthy’s remarkable book, Ball of Collusion, which came out in 2019, he makes very clear that it is Barack Obama who corrupts the Justice Department, it is Hillary Clinton who routinely breaks the law and gets away with it. And now we have Joe Biden who’s learned, he’s learned from Obama that is doesn’t matter what you do, if you’re a liberal Democrat, you will not be prosecuted. He learned from Hillary that a person in high public office can get millions and millions of dollars. And they learned from watching Donald Trump that a true outsider, willing to take on the entire system, could destroy their entire machine. So what you’re seeing across the country, is a desperate, last-ditch effort by a corrupt machine to destroy their most dangerous opponent in a way which not only breaks the Constitution, destroys the rule of law, and establishes a moment of bitterness, uh, which I think will last for a generation or more. “

It will last from now on. Bye By Miss American Pie.

Just today's push for climate control is so sad. YOU fellers should look up opinions an the real reasons for it.
In a nutshell, they want to own you. No dishwasher, no car, no nothing. Ride a bus and live in a Pod.
If we will still be allowed to dine out, I generally have a creme brulee' after dinner. Ha, there will not even be any sugar.

Uh… yeah… like we in Europe didn’t watch your nightmare unfold from 2016 onwards.

Don’t get me wrong. Obama and Hilary are evil right-wing scum, but trump… we saw his lips move on TV. It’s there for all to see.
He actively admits, on TV, and proves the case against himself. Time and time again.

Defending him is like denying the planet is round.

Newt Gingrich, a Republican from Georgia, hates blacks and women.

Who knew?

The man is well past his sell by date. This is the 21st century.

Speaking of 'actually admits'. Biden just admitted that his Inflation Reduction Act was not about inflation, but was meant for Climate Control. And all conservative in-the-know pundits have been sahying this all along. Is that a lie, Shav? Y'all have varying defs of the word lie.
How did AOC get a grip on this man's manhood? Amazing what y'all can do. And, congrats, you will win.

bwahahahahaha, young people could not afford to buy homes for a couple of decades now, healthcare is bankrupting americans or killing them (the lack of), the corrupt political system that allows legal bribes ensures that the middle class (as much of it that is still around) and the poor have no say in political matters.

And what does the great Newt think is the biggest crisis since 1850? An orange billionaire (or millionaire if the rumors are true) cult leader is put on trial for some serious crimes. Not thrown in jail yet, just put on trial and given a fair chance to defend himself.

I say it again, american politics is funny.

How can you Republicans be against every single thing that is right and good about America?

Oh, yeah, you believe in Donald Trump, that's why.

at this point is a cult.

Look for interviews where trumpettes are asked "if he is convicted, will you stop supporting a criminal?"
Before he was indicted, how many said "Trump is still the president, Biden is a puppet"
Jordan Klepper did a hilarious segment that went like this:
"Who is the president"
"Trump, Biden is a puppet"
"Who is in charge of the military"
"Trump"
"So Trump is responsible for sending aid to Ukraine"
"No that was Biden"
"But if Trump is in charge of the military..."
"He is in charge of the good military. Biden is in charge of the bad military"

Newt's most revealing quote was "If you're not in the Washington Post every day, you might as well not exist." He's a provocateur who thinks that political noise is more important that results.

Here's another Newt quote: "I mean, this whole thing is a parody! I tell everybody: We live in the age of the Kardashians. This is all Kardashian politics. Noise followed by noise followed by hysteria followed by more noise, creating big enough celebrity status so you can sell the hats with your name on it and become a millionaire.”

So which is it Newt? Are we headed for a Civil war or is this just a parody reality TV show? In your position of power, have you done anything other than bloviate?

@Mott-The-Hoople

I think Newt Gingrich has some damm scary points to make, most noticeably, civil war.

It's crystal clear that our DoJ has been weaponized, but Newt takes it further and names names.

I like this guy

Yeah great quote. He's talking politics in general, and his own role as an entertainer, not just dims. If he thinks all of modern politics is a parody of itself, a reality show, and he says these things out loud, then why is anyone taking what he says seriously?

He's a provocateur. Nothing more. I used to like newt in the 90s, when it seemed like he actually cared more about doing things than saying things.

A good post. Tell us what is right about taking money from producers and giving it to non-producers. (Example, the forgive tuition plan).

Tell what is 'right' about the government energy department requiring more efficient home appliances, running our lives? Water heaters, stoves......Do you know it will cause dirtier clothes and dirty dishes, maybe starting disease?

Why don't we do a list of all the stuff Biden govt wants to do that is not in the Constitution?
