The Palin family had a feud with Wooten prior to her becoming governor. They put together a list of 14 accusations which they took to the state police to investigate -- a list that ranged from the quite serious to the truly absurd. .... suspension ... The Palin's weren't satisfied but there wasn't much they could do."
....
When Palin became governor they went for another bite at the apple. Palin, her husband and several members of her staff began pressuring Public Safety Commissioner, Walt Monegan
....
Monegan resisted, arguing that the official process regarding Wooten was closed. And there was nothing more that could be done. In fact, during one of the conversations in which Palin's husband Todd was putting on the squeeze, Monegan told Todd Palin, "You can't head hunt like this. What you need to do is back off, because if the trooper does make a mistake, and it is a terminable offense, it can look like political interference."
....
Eventually, Palin got fed up and fired Monegan. ... [Monegan] said he believed he'd been fired for not giving in to pressure to fire Wooten.
...
a bipartisan committee of the state legislature approved an investigation. In response, Palin asked the Attorney General to start his own investigation
....

The Attorney General's investigation quickly turned up evidence that Palin's initial denials were false. Multiple members of her staff had raised Wooten's employment with Monegan. Indeed, the state police had a recording of one of her deputies pushing Monegan to fire Wooten. http://www.gov.state.ak.us/audio/FrankBaileyCDaudio.mp3
....
Just yesterday, Monegan gave an interview to the Washington Post in which he said that not only Palin's aides, but Palin's husband and Palin herself had repeatedly raised the Wooten issue with him and pressured him to fire him. And now he says he has emails that Palin sent him about the matter. (In an interesting sidelight, that may end up telling us a lot, Monegan says no one from the McCain campaign ever contacted him in the vetting process.) http://www.adn.com/front/story/510080.html

McCain, you failed your first Command-in-Chief test.

Did you read any of it?

The bottom-line is thus. The McCain campaign seems to have barely investigated this girl before choosing her to be VP. Hell, there's a damn recording. If I can find this stuff, did the McCain campaign even try? Or was this some "snap" decision, "lead from the gut" BS that we've seen 8 years of already?

She's so underqualified, small-time, Northern Exposure.. it's pathetic.

If you can find it and it isn't on the Sunday morning political shows, then perhaps it isn't true.

But if it is true, don't worry it will eventually end up on one of those shows.

You do know that the investigation has not been concluded don't you?

What you read from any news source about this may not be true. So far I have only heard Walt Monegan's side. This is an inconclusive article on the matter. Untill the investigation is finished, we will not know. And even then, we still may not ever know what really happened.

McCain has a lot more to his name than this one thing that may or may not be true about this woman. Obama does also. So did both sides not do any homework into who they have picked as their candidates?

Funny how you can take this view with a republican, but are prepared to believe (and post) any old rubbish about the democrat candidate.

If you have seen, I have admitted that I was wrong when shown. I have also said that I am not voting for McCain. 😉

Anyway, what I really go on is voting records which are proven.

Edit: I would also like to say that the experence of the post you are refering to is what caused me to think this way about this kind of articles. 😉

It looks to me as though yoiu have the same problem in The USA as we have in the UK; a poor choice.

I skimmed your post. I think I got the gist of it, but it was painful to read. There's no coherence that I can detect. You're focussing on one little side quote, but you put a good chunk of the whole article, seemingly as a separate attempt to smear Palin. Yet you've combined both smears into one post, and you've done it by grabbing every Palin-bashing quote in the article and pasting it here regardless of relevancy.

As far as I can tell, your post is high on venom and low on reason and clarity.

Exactly.

Do we choose Tweedle A or do we choose Tweedle B?

What do all the Wooten quotes have to do with your bottom-line? The recording is, again, about Wooten.

Yes, Biden has been in DC a very long time and would continue with the same old same old.

Palin would shake things up. She could definitely do the job. Hell, if GW can do it, what idiot can't?
