To what limit should our parents, as it is put, "boss" over us? Till when can they control our life? Or can they control our life at all? When is it time for them to stop making decisions in our life, and what boundaries should we set for ourselves and what boundaries should they set for us?

Should they just be the guide in the life of a human, or should they be the deciding factor?

Someone needs to move into thier own place for a month and start eating every meal out of a cardboard box that has been heated in some filth covered microwave that has a cats litter box(the cat belongs to your lazy broke roomate) on top of it. And then come back and ask us the same.
