How would you say piracy affects consumer affairs, and affects the individual on a moral and legal status? Do you condone piracy, or embrace it? Do you think piracy will ever be wiped out?

I don't know. Talk to woolburger. He seems to think that pirates and Al'queda are the same thing.

If the record companies, publishers, agents, and other corporate fat-cats would stop taking such MASSIVE slices of the proverbial profit pie to fund their gluttonous, greedy lifestyles and drug habits then there would be a HUGE reduction in piracy. No one wants to pay the extortionate prices they charge for CD's, DVD's, movies, etc when they can get it for next to nothing.

For example; I'm all for supporting bands and buying their merchandise but I generally refuse to buy CD's these days as they're so frickin' expensive. I used to work for a London record company and I've seen where their profits go. I want to support the bands financially but not feed the corporate ar*eholses that are leeching off of them.

Amen brother. Of course, we can teach them a lesson and still get our good honestly by just waiting a few months to a year (sometimes not that long) and buys the stuff from an internet excess inventory warehouse. You can get the stuff for less than half the price sometimes, All you have to do is pay a small shipping cost and it's yours.

HARR MATEY!

I thought this was about stealing boats (which still occurs today). I read about how a guy has a 0.50 cal machine gun on the deck of his private yacht to ward away pirates. I don't know if this is true...but there are still pirates.
