Colonization/alien invasion really sucks doesn't it. With a renewed sense of humility, I hope you can maybe see the 'discovery' of the Americas by Columbus, for the alien invasion it truly was, and as a result of that knowledge, maybe see the land you inhabit not as yours, but as something stolen for which you owe a great debt to the original indigenous owner ...[text shortened]... rom indigenous stock, but then I would find most of your right wing rhetoric slightly absurd.
A bunch of people ran across the border, and are screaming for equal access to social services that I pay taxes for, but refuse to do similarly.

At the same time, my wife, who immigrated legally from Serbia, five years ago, is still waiting for her green card, still pays hefty immigration fees yearly to legally be granted the right to continue working in the U.S., while these illegal immigrants will be granted similar rights and amnesty at the wave of presidential and congressional hands.

It's easy to feel sympathy for American natives who suffered unspeakable horrors 500 years ago. At the same time, I'd rather focus on the horrors of the present, since that is something that can still be addressed.

I don't owe the damn Indians nothing. Since the beginning of time stronger tribes habve taken land from weaker tribes. The Indians fought among themselves also. Futhermore I am an American and I thank Columbus for having the balls to venture into the unknown and finding this country. I've fought and bled for this country so I have the same right to live here as your so-called indigenous owners. Hell they have the casinos so it must not be too bad for them.
P.S. Don't throw that poor Indians rhetoric out when your country has its share of dirt on it's treatment of the aboriginise people. At least over here we gave them the casinos.

You are so correct my friend. My wife had to get her green card because she is a Mexican and she had to go through the same crap as your wife is doing now.. My mother who was from Italy had to do the same thing also. Most of the ones crossing here illegally are 6th grade educated peons who the Mexican government sends to the US so we can take care of them through the welfare system, Medicaid, and the school system. While I sympathize with the plight of the Mexican people I feel the Mexican Government should take care of their own. Most come over here not to become American citizens but to milk the system. Look at most of the major cities. They have their own little Mexico town and don't want to assimilate and become US citizens.

Columbus didn't find this country - assuming you're talking about the USA. He found the Cuba/Mexico area.

I think any Australian giving any American that speech is slightly absurd.
