Everyone who prefers Trump said he'll win, everyone who prefers Harris said she'll win.

What I find interesting is that it seems both sides kind of this unstated belief that if you speak it, it will come into existence. If a Trump supporter says Harris will win, that supporter will catch all hell, as if he's speaking into existence Trump's loss. Same for a Harris supporter.
The technical term in this case would be 'pre-confirmation bias.' People believe what they want to believe.

There may be people who would prefer that Trump win but recognize that he does not command a majority of the electorate. They will have to hope that lightning strikes twice and that the EC hands the WH to the loser (again).

Contested is a weak term considering the number of election deniers already in place at the electoral count boards already installed in battleground states.
My guess is if Harris wins, the results won't be shown for months, and going all the way to SCOTUS, and I have no doubt if there is any way they can rationalize it, they will hand the victory to Trump just like Bush V Gore.
Scary scenario, but plausible.

@moonbus
It has me very worried. I trust the formerly called republican party, now just a Trumpite party with only revenge and near zero in the way of actual policy helping common folks.
And that is just the start if Trump gets in again, 15 million people in concentration camps, 15 thousand children in cages, 3X as many as last time.
Ending of department of education, FEMA and other agencies, pulling out of NATO, firing 40,000 civil servants and replacing them with folks who have one item only on their resume, Total loyalty to Trump and Trump alone, screw that pesky loyalty to the constitution deal.....

And many more POS things total ban in all 50 states of abortion no exceptions, gay rights out the window and other nice effects.

@sonhouse

And that's only the beginning.

These people literally want the "end of democracy" and aren't ashamed to say so.

I have read you a lot about democracy but you never tell us what it is. To you it seems to be a wide range of what ends up to be taxing the billionaires who build our stuff? What about deregulation? And how are you going to create more jobs if you increase corp business tax rates? The rates are off the charts already. And, US revenue soared after Trump Tax Cuts.
Maybe this will help you see the light. Complements of average Joe. If John Deere moves to Mexico, they are not going to get a 15% corporate tax rate. But, they may get a 99% tariff on their goods if they send tractors here.
AvJoe tells me to ask you to ask Harris 5 govt programs that she would get rid of.

Sometimes wars need to happen and taxes need to be raised. To make that happen you put a candidate out there that is hated so the people have to vote for the other guy, or in this case, the other woman.

ergo, Harris wins.
I was actually talking about China invading Taiwan but I guess the USA will be so busy with funding the Ukraine and Israel and possibly Taiwan the North Koreans are using the opportunity to attack.

You ask about democracy and then lurch off into economics and taxation. What democracy has to do with taxation is simply this: in a democracy, taxation is determined by the people to have to pay it, for their collective benefit, however high or low it may be. In an autocracy, taxation is determined by the autocrat for his own benefit. When plutocrats get their hands on the levers of power, they generally use political power to increase their own wealth, without much regard to the cost for those lower down on the ladder.

There is no relationship between giving tax cuts to the rich and their creating (domestic) jobs. Case in point: President Trump cuts taxes for the rich, and then has HIS bibles printed in China. What a BS economic theory you entertain.

What about deregulation? Pres. Reagan deregulated the banks, one of his first acts as incoming president. The result was the largest bank robbery in history; millions of people lost their entire life savings because deregulated bank managers absconded with the money. The money was not recovered, the culprits were not prosecuted. Reagan's successor, Bush, had to levy a tax to pay off the losses -- which meant that the people who lost their life savings had to pay again, to cover Bush's new tax. What a BS political theory you entertain.

Why do you need to be told what democracy is?

Typical Trumpublican. Oh tell us, kind white savior, what is a real democracy, and don't bother with the truth, we'll believe whatever version you want to invent.

You got to be in it to win it.

Harris will win, with control of both houses!

Trump will win

@sonhouse
Can you please give a one word answer on who you think will win

Donald.

The polls (see the BBC poll tracker, for example) are becoming ever more worrying.

My God, Americans! What the hell is wrong with you?
