It's on another chess site. I said "Hello, Tucson Arizona here" and he said he was in Matanzas Cuba, so I said ohhhh, sorry to hear, how's that eff'ed up Cuban govt treating you? And he disappeared after a couple more moves, now he's off the chess site.
What's up with that?
I didn't get him put in a Cuban jail, did I?
I mean, socialist/commie governments are like, the way to go, aren't they?
Hahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Google says this :

Yes, Cuba monitors its citizens' internet activity, including chat, through a variety of methods:
Avila Link
Software installed at most public access points and ETECSA that allows the government to obtain users' passwords and usernames
Proxy servers
The government routes most connections through proxy servers to obtain users' information
Internet service providers
ISPs are required to register and keep traffic addresses for at least one year
Email delays
Email messages are often delayed, censored, or delivered without attachments
Selective disruptions
The government has selectively disrupted the mobile and fixed-line connections of activists and dissidents
Content manipulation
The government manipulates content and blocks independent news sites
Intercepting internet access
The government intercepts internet access to silence independent journalists
The Cuban government's surveillance of internet activity can lead to criminal cases or other reprisals for users who criticize the regime. The government also restricts online access, with most users only able to access a closely monitored Cuban intranet.

Maybe you should not be so hard on the poor guy. It was probably a teen and he did not know what to do or how to handle it.

Jeez I hope I didn't get him killed.
Because Cuba is like, all kinds of cool to its citizens, right?

Communism is almost as bad as Islam.

He could have been the victim of an electrical grid crash. It's been frequent this past year

As of December 5, 2024, Cuba's electrical grid is technically back online, but the country is still experiencing significant power outages due to generation issues that remain well below demand, meaning many people are still without power even though the grid is reconnected; recent nationwide blackouts have affected millions across the island.
Key points about Cuba's current power situation:

Recent grid collapse: [SNIP]

Curious what chess site that was? I play bullet mostly on Lichess. One minute games, keeps me on my toes. Am 1400 on bullet, which I hear is like 1700 on RHP which is about my rating here. 1500 players on bullet there really know their stuff.

Puerto Rico is now experiencing a power grid failure, probably for the next week or more.

No other US territory has to deal with this. It's ridiculous.

what are you talking about, SusieQ

When hurricane Katrina blew through, 1.5 million Floridians lost electrical power as did many in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.

The difference is, Susie, the electric companies owned by capitalist pigs have the equipment and labor force to FIX it, pronto.

ya dig

AND, as a US territory, WE should make sure that Puerto Rico, as an economically depressed island with 3.2 million people who are American citizens, has what they need to keep the power on.

@Suzianne

maybe the US should just take over Cuba, for the good of the people! of course

I probably would cease to talk to you if you asked me if my "f'ing governemnet" let me down.

It is not polite or any of your business. There is a reason why there is the rule in small talk not to talk about politics or religion.

why should the fed govt support them when they dont pay any federal taxes?

US gives Billions in aid every year to Puerto Rico and they blow it because of corruption and graft don't blame the US for the problems Puerto Rico has, they deserve what they get.
