Neither party represents the people it purports to anymore. The last batch of good politicians was perhaps Kennedy, LBJ, Reagan was a good one. But the distribution of wealth in America is so skewed to such a smal ...[text shortened]... don't. Money has broken our system.

Now I'm going to stand back and wait for the flames.
Bruce Springsteen, I see you are a fan of him. My Grandma on my mom's side was friends with his mom.

Ahh, the art of debate is not lost after all....

Seriously though sasquatch I agree, this is the fate of all institutions of serious power. And I'm not saying this as a Bush hater, but as a member of the human race. I think it is sad that honour and honesty are not more important to those of us that would lead. But then I suppose we should ask why anyone would want to lead, I suspect that power or money, on whatever level is applicable, is probably the reason. I do not blame them entirely, it is likely that these institutions operate in the ways they do for a reason and it is often very hard to work against that without undermining any qualities that the institution has. People do not like change and will protect their interests vehemently, these people are in positions of great influence. Even if it was in the mind of a president to change such misuse of power, I doubt whther thay would be able to.

Have the dems or Reps ever represented the needs of the common man? Think back to the turn of the century when JP Morgan was running the country. Things haven't changed one iota since, except the damage done by presidents being lackeys for big corporations is that now the damage is global and more extreme.

I defo disagree that Kennedy/Johnson/Reagan were good presidents though, unless u consider war presidents to be good?

Edit: why the eire flag?
