changing the electoral system won't get rid of corruption, far from it.
But I do despise the electoral system for other reasons. It's completely unfair that voters in small states have more power-per-vote than voters in large states.

Im not saying there isn't any room for improvement, all Im saying is the country won't suddenly become perfect simply by changing the electoral system.

Corruption is present in all countries to a certain extent, regardless of what system they have.

What kind of change would you like to see in the US system?

The point is that "pork" is not corruption. It's politicians playing by the rules, and the rules encourage senators to get specific benefits for their home state at the cost of the other states.

I completely agree on all points. Even though I support a national election for the Presidency, it would do nothing to curb corruption.

Banning corporate funding of election campaigns, however, would definitely be a step in the right direction.

Getting the state out of the economy would do the same thing only better.
