How'd it do? Heraldabc is quite harsh on what I thought was our stellar record. What do you think?
We stalemated Korea, we lost Vietnam, we screwed up Granada, stumbled over Nicaragua, lost Panama to the PRCs, bungled Lebanon, did not close the deal on Iraq the first time, screwed up Somalia, and look to see the current Iraq regime tilt toward Iran even after a ten year war we allegedly won. (If you think Malarky is anything than a Tehran tool, then you are not paying attention) Add to that we still look about to lose the twelve year Afghan War and now the MESS that is Libya.
No, JFKY, history is very clear on this one.
There is NO substitute for victory, and from the track record I just showed you, there is DAMN little American victory to show.

We kept the North Koreans from taking over the South, which was their goal then and now. That's not a stalemate.
Yeah, Vietnam was a loss, but not by the military. They OWNED South Vietnam from 1970 on.
"Screwed up Grenada Somalia, blah blah blah".
Screwed up? Those places have been screwed up since before written history so who cares? They will be screwed up a thousand years from now. America can't wave a magic wand and make them peaceful democratic fun loving let's-be-fair -and -follow-the-Golden Rule type of people. They never have been and never will be.
