So I'm up late and can't sleep. And I turned on this show called "Preppers". Is it just me or are these folks a little off? Does anybody do this?
Highlights from this episode: an enormously fat man demonstrating his fire and maneuver tactics, which made me think of some kind of ruptured duck with at least one broken leg, an enormously fat woman creeping around her house, gun drawn, which made me think of some kind of busted penguin, and well, I just can't watch anymore.
They were worried about EMP and an economic collapse. It seems that a collapse of their knees or hips, or a heart attack, are far more likely.

All American TV is crap. Simple.
They are either self absorbed or else they are running around with guns.
There's no intelligence in American TV.
Look at FRIENDS, they get something like $1 million dollars per episode.
WHY????????????????????????????????
It's crap.
The only 2 American shows I ever liked were Banacek and Columbo.
Why?
Because they were intelligent.
Originally posted by johnnylongwoodyI found a British show I liked a lot. Several, actually. The Young Ones was great lowbrow comedy. AbFab was excellent. My latest find was Hustle - only disappointment is I think you Brits have television seasons that run eight weeks, so it was fairly easy to cycle through the whole show in a short period of time. Kelly Adams is unbelievably smoking hot.

To be fair, the federal government has plans of its own. In addition, they recommend that citizens have a certain amount of food and water on hand, just in case....
The reason for prepping is numerous. There are those concerned about economic collapse, terrorist attacks, natural disasters etc. I suppose the only question becomes, when does it become prudent and when does it become an obsession and reason for living?
Of course, what you see on TV is just a tip of the ice burg. Many in the US are armed to the teeth and with supplies on hand to boot.
Originally posted by sasquatch672Maybe government funded and controlled media wants people to view preppers and generalize them in a negative light. You might want to step away from floride and mercury laden corn syrup.
