NYU (certainly an elite school)
The entire university is about 15% Asian, or about a 200% overrepresentation based on US population percentage.

While less scientific, I can tell you that the math department at NYU is dominated by Asians. While NYU doesn't apparently publish race stats by department (or at least I can't find it), my father taught there for 20 years and said his math classes were always dominated by Asians.
@eladar saidNo more blondes walking to the classrooms..........
The just goes to show that the people deciding who makes it into Princeton are not simply white racist types. If they can, they will let in as many poc as possible.
It is only test scores that are keeping the numbers low.
@eladar saidMight as well apply and find out. There are 3 levels: grants (i.e., free money), subsidized loans (lower interest) and unsubsidized loans (higher interest). For both loans, you don't have to start re-paying until after graduation and I believe interest doesn't even start accruing on the subsidized loans until 6 months after graduation.
My wife said that her she could only get a small stafford loan in school, the rest was picked up by Sallie Mae.
Any Stafford loan you get is going to be better than a private loan like Sallie Mae. Anyway, you're not committing by filling our a FAFSA. See what she's eligible for and then decide.
I paid 100% of my law school tuition (granted, it wasn't that much after my scholarship) with Stafford loans, which I repaid in small increments over 17 years (including a refinance). Just finished paying it off last year, actually. It really wasn't that bad.
Of course, it helped that I chose a school that was willing to give me a scholarship instead of a better school that would have charged triple. But that's where personal choice comes in.
The post that was quoted here has been removedWe often see Duchess ‘explaining’ what she writes. This is why I have implored the erudite Duchess to write in plain conversational English. Then we could understand. Like, I wrote in Presidents Rank thread that ‘Reagan KILLED Obama.’ Everyone understands, nirvana.
@averagejoe1 saidNo, this one was on me. She did write "majority," which, in my haste, I substituted "overrepresentation" for.
