@sonhouse saidWell, The Donald did say Covid 19 was "a hoax" and that it would "just go away"

What a shocker, who would have known.
Oh wait, I forgot, NPR is FAKE NEWS.
Yep, only listen to TUCKER if you want the real deal.

@Earl-of-Trumps
Yeah, you REALLY researched THAT one.

Take a look at the idea of WHY it is a low rate.

I'm not saying that Republicans haven't been more vax-hesitant. They have, obviously (though not because of Trump specifically - Trump has never been anti-vax in the least).
But the article, of course, doesn't correct for geography, which is the single most important driver of COVID. The South tends to be more Republican and the South also happens to be hot and humid in the summer, forcing people indoors. The North's indoor season is the winter, which is why the north is spiking now. After the upper midwest started spiking a month ago, the northeast is following suit now (as I told you it would).
Now, I'm not saying people shouldn't get vaccinated (they should), though I'm happy to leave it as a personal choice as I feel no danger from unvaxxed people walking around. But that NPR would ignore seasonality in it's political hit piece, while unsurprising, is just another example of media sophistry.
@metal-brain saidThe Spanish flu never went away. It's still with us. It's simply endemic, as is COVID.
The Donald did NOT say Covid 19 was "a hoax".
The 1918 Spanish Flu just went away. Right?

@athousandyoung saidWWI may have led the Spanish Flu to spread faster than it otherwise would have, but that it would infect many people eventually and become endemic was probably never in doubt.
Correct. What went away was WW1 and the unsanitary conditions in the trenches.
@metal-brain saidYes he did....https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-calls-coronavirus-democrats-new-hoax-n1145721

@Metal-Brain
Maybe he didn't call it a hoax but he was interviewed by Bob Woodward and Trump admitted he was told how dangerous Covid was IN JANUARY 2020.
You should read Rage by Bob Woodward, it is an eye opener but of course you don't WANT your eyes open so don't bother reading it, you will just get ulcers.
@sonhouse saidThey won't read that;
