Many suburbs in my city have experienced a bit of a property boom in recent years, and with our interest rates coming down many people have chosen to take loans and invest in property.
It has become quite a fashionable retirement plan. You buy a house, or a flat, rent it out for 20 years as you pay off the loan, then sell it, or move into it.
With the collapse of the culture of racial discrimination in my country (South Africa) we have seen large numbers of black people moving into what were previously considered white neighbourhoods.
Now, as many properties have been bought by individual investors the value of properties throughout the city have generally increased. Supply and demand.
So the demand for renting property has increased as it's becoming more expensive to buy.
There exists a trend among many investors to only let their properties out to other white people... this trend keeps racial segregation in the suburbs alive, though not nearly as dominant as it was during our Apartheid era.
Now, my questions, do you think these white investors who refuse to let their properties out to black people are acting within their rights as property owners... or do you think that they should be prosecuted for discrimination?
Should they be allowed to continue only letting their properties to people they feel they can trust?
If you take the distasteful racism out of the picture, on what grounds should they be allowed to dicriminate? Employment? HIV Status? Smoking? Sexism? By what means can a government decide what you are allowed to do with your stuff?

I only rent my house out to chain-smoking dwarf lumberjacks who dress up in women's clothing and hang around in bars.

over the last few years ive met many afrikanos who have left and they said because no work etc
Ok, I confess... đ
Everybody left and now there's no one here except me. I have the whole place to myself. Yesterday I crowned myself The Honorary Executator King of the Land (as far as the eye can see). I'm planning on building a big castle with a moat and stuff, possibly with African tigers in the moat to bite the legs off any stupid passersby that happen to get lost in my Kingdom.
I'm thinking of renaming it, the country I mean, I don't like "South Africa". It's not catchy. It's got no PIZAZZ! I will call my country "Paenwarloian Mendiuraxa". That's a brilliant name. I think I'm going to give myself a medal for that moment of absolute genius.
