During that era, we produced more jobs than we could fill. That isn't the case anymore, and unemployed Americans have to compete for jobs with immigrants.

As of four days ago, the unemployment rate is only 4.9 percent. This is lower than the unemployment rate of "that era" when Reagan and Bush were presidents.
