I know redistricting reform is not as hot a topic as Sarah Palin's latest political misstep, John Boehner's latest sob story, Barack Obama's latest sports injury, or Glee's latest album, but especially in the wake of the completion of the census and the midterm elections, is anyone else curious why the idea of redistricting reform, or the lack thereof, hasn't even entered the national political dialogue? Am I the only one troubled by the fact that in the next few years, state assemblies across the country will go out of their way to solidify incumbencies and undermine democracy? Or am I just missing something entirely? Maybe I just have peculiar political interests...

Edit: Just checked the link above.
This will prove to be the biggest net effect of the past election cycle. Since Republicans took control of a record number of state legislatures it puts them in firm control of redrawing the new districts. They just assured themselves a greater advantage in winning US house seats for the next 10 years.
