Seems to me there is much to worry about these days:

1. Economic Turmoil
2. Social Unrest
3. Too Many Unnecessary Wars
4. Too Much Government Waste
5. Dishonest Political Leaders

Relax folks, and ask yourself, when in the course of the last
3000+ years have these things been absent?? Answer:
Never! Try to find happiness in the little things in life (such
as a good book, a garden, a chess victory, or a well cooked
meal). As a wise man once said: "The more it changes, the
more it stays the same, and the hand just rearranges the
players in the game. 😏

There is no economic turmoil in Cuba.
There is little social unrest in Cuba, and the little that's there is stirred up by pro-Batista fascists.
Socialist Cuba has never fought an aggressive or foreign war.
The Cuban government has not wasted anything, as they have very little that they could waste (thank the US for that).
Neither Fidel nor Raul are dishonest; in fact, they're fairly admirable political leaders.

That's Example #1. I can also give examples for the current governments of Libya, Iran, Venezuela, and Ghana.

The problem is that there are people out there being paid a lot of money to scare people witless about one thing or another, or to get them REALLY angry about something.

As for Cuba, if the nation was truly so wonderful, the government would allow people to have complete freedom to leave if they wished.

Not wishing to nitpick, but Cuba has fought foreign wars, and a good thing too. They've sent their soldiers to support many a foreign revolution.

What?? Don't panic???? How would we survive without panic??????

I agree, of course, with the one little proviso that the threat of nuclear war is unlike the threats humans have dealt with in the past.

Then again, facing a pandemic with little institutional means or knowledge to combat it (e.g., black death) might have been just as bad.

Go live there then if you think Cuba's so great.

You neglected to mention the firing squads that ran around the clock when Castro took over, killing everyone and their families that Castro thought might be a threat. Thousands.

Talking up castro the way you do makes me sick.

He didn't go "with no problem." He went to Florida and no one knew what he was doing. The Coast Guard even tried to stop him.

The coast guard stopped him when he went into Guantanamo Bay into a restricted area.

No one stopped him from going to Cuba.

You would have no problem getting to Cuba based on US sanctions. Your only problem would be getting back home. But, I'm sure you would have no need to do so after living in paradise.

Uh-huh, whatever. Just go. You could be a propaganda plum for Castro "Jordanian becomes US citizen, then escapes from America to Cuba where everything is wonderful"

Only you better not criticize anything there. Ever. Castro don't take kindly to it and you'll disappear. Best stay in the US where you can run yer mouth off about how awful it is here and how great Cuba is in comparison.

Seriously?

You really ought to get an understanding of some basic facts.

Do you know, for example, where Crde Che Guevara was, and for what purpose, when he was killed?
