John (I’ve not been given my rightful peerage) Bercow.

The EU Remainer’s champion of the house, the man held up as a banner of parliamentary integrity and political sanity, the guy who almost blocked the UK’s democratic decision to Leave the EU through his partisan obfuscation, the supposed neutral Speaker of the Commons… the guy held up in this forum by the likes of Wolfgang59 and others as a hero… remember him?

Well he’s been given a lifetime ban from Parliament for systematic “serial” bullying of his staff.

This is GOLD!

I think bullies should be banned from all venues in which they bully others.

Nothing’s worse or more pathetic than a bully who runs to the site admins to complain when he gets a taste of his own medicine.

Just a general observation. Not referring to anyone in particular.

I love Bercow.
Sad to hear he’s a bully.

But what a chairman! Damn.

You love him because he showed bias towards your view on Brexit.

I disliked him because he showed bias from a seat which should be unbiased and in doing so he tried to pervert the course of UK democratic decision.

Now I mock him for being a “serial bully” and a liar and for not getting his peerage.

Brexit rules! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Love you Shav xx

No. I love him because he was an excellent chairman.

Something I admire.

@divegeester
I remember him doing insufferably arrogant interviews on American networks like CNN etc. during Brexit. In particular I remember him saying something like "If you are losing the match then it's very bad form to then blame the referee."

He wasn’t though; he was biased, opinionated and craved attention. The worst Speaker in living memory.

Yes, that's a pity. He knew very well who ought to be bullied into submission, but he didn't know his limits - he didn't know who should not.

Let's be honest here - MPs, no matter which party they belong to, deserve bullying. None of them are honest, and all of them ought to be shouted until they admit it. But if you extend that to mere, menial, administrative staff, you don't know the distinction between oligarchs and serfs.
