A US intelligence report found that several researchers at China's Wuhan Institute of Virology fell ill in November 2019 and had to be hospitalized. . . .China reported to the World Health Organization that the first patient with Covid-like symptoms was recorded in Wuhan on December 8, 2019.
Unfortunately, this new report is also fueling the "Wuhan Lab" conspiracy, according to the article.
But if the information is true, it could mean China lied to the world about when it discovered it's first COVID case. Given China's attempts to silence at least eight different doctors who tried to warn about COVID, that is definitely a possibility.
The post that was quoted here has been removedYou accuse me of a strawman by using another strawman. There is no post in my history on this forum that backs your claim of "Sinophobic bias".
Duchess, however, has a well-documented history of defending China's abuse toward Muslims, even once claiming that China only imprisoned Uighurs because they were "terrorists". These are actual words from Duchess, calling Muslims terrorists.
Duchess' bias is well-known.
@vivify saidInteresting stuff.

But the WHO probe was swiftly criticized by the US, UK, and other governments over its limited access to "complete, original data and samples."

One of the challenges in developing any certainty is access to the lab itself. China delayed access to international investigators for months after the initial outbreak, virtually guaranteeing that the lab had been deep-cleaned before any forensic analysis could be done, and investigators were also not allowed to view original data logs that scientists say would be critical to understanding the virus' origins.
One critical avenue to finding an answer would be to run genetic sequencing on the original samples that staff at the Wuhan lab were working on. But "the Chinese are never going to allow that," said one person familiar with the underlying intelligence.

The CCP has been playing it cozy all along. Hard to take their word on anything they say on this COVID matter.
The post that was quoted here has been removedI have no record of "lying". You seem content with simply stating things often enough, hoping that will magically make something fact.
China is authoritarian regime that tried to silence at least eight different doctors from warning the public about COVID-19. Now there's evidence China knew much earlier than it claimed about the virus.
This, if true, isn't the least bit surprising; China admitted it faked it's televised fire-works display during the Olympics with CGI, in order to boost it's image. The Chinese government lies about even insignificant things; this is why China keeps lying about it's human rights abuses toward Muslims, restricts information from it's own citizens and controls what Chinese media is allowed to report.
China cares more for it's own image than the welfare of it's own citizens. The Uighurs can corroborate this.
Here's Wall Street Journal's perspective. Very interesting.

The Wuhan Lab Leak Question: A Disused Chinese Mine Takes Center Stage
DANAOSHAN, China—On the outskirts of a village deep in the mountains of southwest China, a lone surveillance camera peers down toward a disused copper mine smothered in dense bamboo. As night approaches, bats swoop overhead.
This is the subterranean home of the closest known virus on Earth to the one that causes Covid-19. It is also now a touchpoint for escalating calls for a more thorough probe into whether the pandemic could have stemmed from a Chinese laboratory.
In April 2012, six miners here fell sick with a mysterious illness after entering the mine to clear bat guano. Three of them died.
Chinese scientists from the Wuhan Institute of Virology were called in to investigate and, after taking samples from bats in the mine, identified several new coronaviruses.

The post that was quoted here has been removedDuchess posted about group of Muslims committing crimes as a defense of China torture and oppression of them. Fox News did the same by citing Hispanic gangs like MS-13 as a defense of Trump's racist rhetoric toward them.
On this thread alone, Duchess clings to increasingly more racist rhetoric to defend China's oppression of Muslims.
