The Republican Party has been plagued by infighting in recent weeks and had seemed unable to reach an agreement on Mr McCarthy's replacement.
The narrowness of Mr Scalise's victory highlights the divisions within the party, and some lawmakers have expressed scepticism that, even now, he has the votes necessary to secure the Speaker position.
Among those still opposing him is Kentucky's Thomas Massie, who told reporters that he is a "hard no", at least in the initial vote, because of disagreements with Mr Scalise on how the budget should be handled.
Mr. Scalise who said of himself that he’s like the grand dragon of the KKK, without the baggage.
Whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean.
trump supported Jim Jeffries (or whatever his name is). Another right-wing extremist, who now says he’ll support the non-baggage KKK guy, but aince trump’s man lost, other colourful characters in the loony-right of the party are saying they won’t support KKK guy; baggage or not.
Some of them, Colorado's Lauren Boebert, Georgia's Marjorie Taylor Greene and Florida's Anna Paulina Luna; the MAGA demon-bitches, that nobody calls them but should, are especially vocal. Screeching like banshees at a home-brewed whiskey festival.
So this was a secret vote. God only knows why. And now it has to be brought to the floor for a formal vote. Or…
It is unclear when the House will be called back for a floor vote, with acting Speaker Patrick McHenry saying "we'll see" when asked about it.
I ask thee: are these lunatics suitable for running a bloody country?
Me thinks not.
Edit: just thinking of George Santos. Good grief.
@shavixmir saidJim Jeffries is a lying POS left whinger wannabe comic, who was exposed monumentally by Avi Yemini.

@wajoma saidAre you saying that trump supports a left-winger? Or are you suggesting trump doesn’t know he’s a left-winger, and in supporting him, proves he’s a senile, misinformed git?

Also… left-wing of what?
@shavixmir saidSorry. Off subject, but you seem to hope that we all listen to you when you think a government should provide free housing?

Just asking for a friend. She has difficulty with your points when you are deriving them from such a platform, that type of imbeddedness.
She’s got a point. What shall I tell her?
@shavixmir saidNo, not suitable. They make a fun minority party.

@averagejoe1 saidThe right to housing is a basic human right.

How a country organises that is up to them.
Can’t you just shove an extra caravan into your trailer park for your friend?
@shavixmir saidIt is not in this country, it is not in the constitution. It may will exist in the Netherlands, but I don’t know anything about the Netherlands. Except they’re different than we are. No one knows about the Netherlands, we do not even know the name of your president, if that is what you call him. Or her.

@AverageJoe1
What? You want me to come home from work, and then go to a store and buy a caravan, and Park it in my yard, and tell someone they can have it, or live there for free? Is that what you are saying?
We know that that is not what you were saying, which makes your post very difficult. Why don’t you tell us what you are really saying.
@averagejoe1 saidI think you will find that the US did adopt the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

And that is generally seen as customary international law.0
@shavixmir saidWe have been over that weak argument, you lost. I will be happy to beat it up again, please do a new thread so everyone will get your insane OP.

We can cut some fat right off right away by noting that you mention human rights (can’t burn people alive) but you do not specifically say that all participating countries should provide free housing.
I speak for Suzianne and me in agreeing to the provisions of the Dec of H Rights.
@averagejoe1 saidYou’ve never won an argument in your life, you nutjob.

Stop taking drugs.
@shavixmir saidShav. Cut to the chase......If a government provides free housing, it is doing so with the money of every citizen of the society....a government does not have any money.;
You’ve never won an argument in your life, you nutjob.
Stop taking drugs.
So, it would follow that you, Shavixmir, are saying that the populace should be required to use their own-earned money to pay for the housing of another citizen.
Can you give us a thoughtful elaboration, no matter how difficult/impossible it would be, so that we can all be educated, and maybe even agree with you??
@shavixmir saidAn election denier who was part of the coup planning commission and implicated in a sexual abuse scandal when he was a wrestling coach. You’d think he’d be a shoe in for GOP house speaker
So, how’s Jim Jordan’s bid for house speaker going?
Oh. Oh well, I’m sure bowing to an extremist group in the republican party will bear fruits eventually.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Il Trumpy must be losing his grip.
Grown men who like to wrestle with kids, nothing dodgy or groomie about that
@averagejoe1 saidThat same argument goes for the army. Trillions you spend on it. Better to house your citizens.

And perhaps send you rednecks to school or something.
