Ex-Trump White House officials, dozens of Republicans endorse Harris
Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign on Sunday flaunted over two dozen presidential endorsements from Republican party members, including some who served in former President Donald Trump's administration.
Nearly 30 GOP members were cited as part of the new "Republicans for Harris" initiative launched Sunday. These include Stephanie Grisham, former White House press secretary under Trump, and national security official Olivia Troye — who worked as Vice President Mike Pence's national security advisor. Chuck Hagel and Ray LaHood, Republican cabinet members under President Barack Obama, were also listed.
By publicly defecting on the Republican presidential nominee, these officials leave a target on their back for attacks from Trump.

@moonbus saidif they still with trump, they aren't genuine traditional conservatives.
@vivify
If only more genuine, traditional conservatives, such as Romney and Cheney and Murkowski, would defect, then they would leave what is now the GOP in name only to what has in fact become the Tea Party.
they are whores, selling themselves by staying in the Trump stench hoping some power trickles down on them.
genuine traditional conservatives are pretty much democrats now

@Zahlanzi saidCertainly the GOP is no longer the conservative party of Reagan or Bush, and Trump is no conservative either. Trump is simply an opportunist with no principles.

@Zahlanzi saidOr independents.

But yes, there is nothing "conservative" about the Republican party these days. Not even fiscally. When Republicans grab power, they increase deficits and debts, and destabilize markets with erratic or incoherent policies.
Now they want to impose massive tariffs on all imports, almost certainly starting a global trade war that would be to the grave detriment of anyone who isn't at least a multimillionaire. There is nothing conservative about that. But hey, you don't want those Chinese- or Japanese-made electric vehicles cutting into Musk's profit margin, so you have to make sure the ordinary Joe has fewer choices in EVs other than overpriced and overhyped Teslas.
