Okay then…
It’s a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about, that, because, look, child care is child care. It’s something you know you have to have it, in this country you have to have it,
But when you talk about those numbers compared to the type of numbers I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to, but they’ll get used to it very quickly,

I didn’t quote it all, because he just rambled on and on and on.
I think one of the things that we can do is make it easier for families to choose whatever model they want, right? So one of the ways that you might be able to relieve a little bit of pressure on people who are paying so much for day care is … maybe grandma and grandpa [want] to help out a little bit more, or maybe there’s an aunt or uncle that wants to help out a little bit more.

So, basically, the republican stance on childcare is something about unbelievable numbers by raising tariffs and getting your granny to look after the kids.
Is this the coherent policy stance that republicans keep requesting from Harris?

@wildgrass saidYup. And a whole lot of “numbers”.
He said "childcare is childcare" three different times in this response.
But never an actual number.
@shavixmir saidThis is not meant for you, Shav, but those on the misguided right. Pardon me for using your post as a "jumping off point".
Luckily, trump has other policies up his sleeve: he’ll stop allowing schools to perform sex changing surgery on children…
I just want to point out to those who think the left is "maiming" children, that these are not just "sex-changing" surgeries but gender-affirming surgeries, matching their bodies to the gender their brain is telling them they are. The vast majority of those undergoing these surgeries are glad they got them because they can finally feel like themselves.
You do not suffer from gender dysphoria, and so you are unfamiliar with (and presumably do not care about) the ramifications of having this condition. If you did, all you want is for people to listen to you and to help you.
Further enlightenment for those who still need it.
Gender dysphoria (GD) is the distress a person experiences due to a mismatch between their gender identity—their personal sense of their own gender—and their sex assigned at birth. The term replaced the previous diagnostic label of gender identity disorder (GID) in 2013 with the release of the diagnostic manual DSM-5. The condition was renamed to remove the stigma associated with the term disorder.
People with gender dysphoria commonly identify as transgender. Gender nonconformity is not the same thing as gender dysphoria, and does not always lead to dysphoria or distress.
The causes of gender incongruence are unknown but a gender identity likely reflects genetic, biological, environmental, and cultural factors. Diagnosis can be given at any age, although gender dysphoria in children and adolescents may manifest differently than in adults. Complications may include anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. Treatment for gender dysphoria includes social transitioning and often includes hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and/or gender-affirming surgeries, and psychotherapy.
