There is a controversy brewing that has become known as Roe v. Wade for men. An unwed father in Michigan believes if women have a right to choose, then men should have that right, also. He is filing a lawsuit, claiming his child support payments violate his constitutional rights.

Matthew Dubay is the unwed father from Saginaw who has filed the suit in federal court, saying his court ordered child support payments violate his constitutional rights.

His attorneys from the National Center for Men call this Roe v. Wade for men, because they say if a woman has the right of choice, men should be able to choose not to pay child support ...

What's your take on this?

I think the child has the right to choose to sue his father for being such a scumbag.

Never thought this day would come but have to strongly agree with Peachy. There are far too many irresponsible fathers in the world and we dont need to further encourage them.

This will be the subject of a formal debate between DoctorScribbles and myself in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

American justice system is very anti-male, thats a fact. In this light I find this case very interesting. Feministas have succeeded in this country to pretty much make being a male to be somewhat anti-American. I do feel very sorry for this kid who will grow up fatherless, but I do blame the mother for that. Using children and sex to blackmail men should be curtailed. Equal rights, they say? Then let there be equal rights for everybody. Even men.

I don't recall the female in question forcing him to have sex...maybe if he'd thought with his brain instead of his penis in the first place...and really if this 'father doesn''t want to pay child maintenance then maybe he's not the kind of father a kid needs

This gentleman was thinking very clearly with his head and made it known that the transaction of sex with said female was carried out with the mutual understanding that he does not wish a child. We have a reason to believe that the woman in guestion did not act in good faith and conned him (oh, surprise surprise, women are capable of such things!). It is a very interesting case and it IS about equal rights and not only. Just watch this one explode.

I do agree with Peremees that our society it anti male, Do you think that the mother has rights to put away the child and the father don't?

Id say once the mother is pregnant, BOTH the mother AND father has to stick with the child

And here s the rub! Both, you say? What if you and I do some business together and you made it clear to me that there are certain outcomes you'd like to avoid. For example, you do not want trouble with the IRS. This is your precondition for the business and I agree to it. Next thing you know you are saddled with the heavy IRS levy against you as my business partner. I conned you, and possibly from the get go. Now you are stuck with it and everyone hates you. To add insult to the injury, everyone feels sorry for me and blames you. I hope I get my point across.

Yeah, let's bring the legal system into the bedroom! We can see how it has worked wonders for the medical field...

The poor kid shouldn't be punished and the scum dad should have his nuts chopped off if he doesn't act responsibly and cough up every cent he owes his son.

God damn it. I don't understand these kind of people. THAT IS YOUR SON THERE! He is a gift, treat him RIGHT!! 😠

Couples in the thousands do the impossible and pay tons to be able to have children.. Its the best thing that could happen to anyone. How can he live knowing that his son is there needing help but instead he "chooses" to sue the law in rejection to his own son's rights.

How can he sleep at night..? I wish his son appears in every second of every dream that selfish scum has. Selfish bastard.

Not too sure what youre getting at but the only time there will be complete equality between the sexes is when there is complete equality in the conception, delivery and rearing of the offspring. Right now the responsibiilty is heavily skewed against the female and law will RIGHTLY seek to protect the female.

I guess you will have to wait until all babes are produced in a lab (about 200 years or so?) for full equality.

If the woman/mother has a right to an abortion, then the man/father should have the right to negate the woman's/mother's choice to have an abortion.

Suppose the woman was raped, would you still say the same thing ? What other exceptions might there be ? Suppose the woman does not like the man or does not want to have a child for him, should he have the right to force her to ?
