This is possible, but not likely. Many people said the same thing in 1964 after the Goldwater debacle, but the GOP came back to win elections in 68, 72, 80, 84, 88 etc. The GOP is having a tough time right now, and Donald Trump's attacks on his fellow Republicans are not helping, but I'm not convinced the GOP is "crumbling" (At least not yet)
