An underwhelming response to Romney's convention speech according to Gallup:
A new Gallup poll shows that 38% of national adults rated Mitt Romney’s convention speech as either excellent or good -- that's the lowest percentage since Gallup began tracking this question in 1996.

Gore actually came across as very personable in his convention speech, particularly when he kissed his wife. It was the debates that cost him some votes, with the makeup and the Academy Award type acceptance speeches in lieu of answers.
I have no idea what impression Romney made on undecided voters. The pundits seem to think he did well. We know that Ra ...[text shortened]... ll give him a bounce, but let's see what happens with the real polsters over the next few days.

Registered Democrats still dominate the political playing field with more than 42 million voters, compared to 30 million Republicans and 24 million independents.

It's odd that the Wall Street Journal would be accused of commissioning a poll with "liberal bias".
Originally posted by no1marauderI saw those numbers and they confound me. I thought the speech was good and everyone who commented at the beginning of this thread (including a few liberals) thought the same. Hardly scientific, I know, but still. My guess is that conservatives didn't like it because there wasn't enough red meat for the wingnuts and liberals don't like it because they'll never like anything Mitt has to say. I would imagine much of that 38% came from moderates.

He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think utherpendragon would describe himself as a centrist at all.
