@metal-brain saidThe whole idea of this is for mainly Europe to detach itself from its reliance on Russian oil in the longer term which has always been strategically insane. Of course it will put the price of oil up until the market levels out but ultimately Russia’s market for its carbon fuels is going to get a lot smaller and hopefully a lot of the shortfall will be filled by greener energy sources that are more global in terms of availability.
