Actually, I did work in intelligence at one point. "High up"? I took that to mean a very senior officer (O-6 or above)was the mole, not something I could imagine happening.
Of course, no one above Colonel is vulnerable to corruption.

(Remember Oliver North?)

Well if the US military intelligence is staffed with similarily un-imaginitive officers then I expect it's teeming with russian moles.... high-up or otherwise.

I dont need to use any of my 412 years of experience to know a basic requirement for the job of military intelligence.

I take it you also agree it's "inconceivable" for for the russians to infiltrate the US military?

I apologize for believing that such felonies as accepting an illegal gratuity, aiding and abetting in the obstruction of a congressional inquiry, and destruction of documents would constitute corruption. I certainly don't mean to suggest that the thirteen felonies for which he was indicted, but not convicted could constitute accusations of corruption. 🙄

I don't get off. I maintain the course towards accurate information and honest reporting of the past. Nort was convicted of three felonies. Not only was he accussed of corruption, he was proven corrupt. Now, following in the footsteps of the convicts from CREEP, North has his own radio show.

Of course it is inconceivable. Just read Ann Coulter's new book about Tail Gunner Joe.

We know what he did during his life. He was preparing for the Cold War.

FDR was no fool. He understood that the Atlantic Charter was a bit too idealistic. He may have believed in those ideals, but he knew thet it would require a long fight both internationally and domestically to implement the ideas in any tangible way. By the time of the Yalta conference, the battle lines of the Cold War were crystal clear.
You might want to credit FDR but I think it was Churchill who had the foresight about the cold war. You couldn't BS Churchill. Great man and leader. Wish he were around now.

Yes of course. The only point was to show that Stalin's actions were not unique.

Actually, Oliver North was convicted of the felonies mentioned. His conviction was overturned because he was compelled to testify in front of Congress under a grant of limited immunity, but it was determined by the appeals court that the fact that his public testimony was compelled and that the witnesses against him knew of the substance of it tainted the prosecutor's case and violated North's right against self-incrimination. This is what right wingers (like North) call a "technicality" if other felons get off because of it. Personally, I believe the appeals court's decision was correct and the Congress were idiots to have North testify in public, destroying the criminal case against him for political considerations (which largely backfired).

The whole charade certainly constitutes an accusation of corruption, wouldn't you agree?

Oh, wow....so LtCol North was never convicted of all the awful things you've accused him of? Jeez, the ease with which you slander people.
Jerk.
