Urm nope. That Europe is leading makes me plenty happy. That the USA is underperforming there is little doubdt. Either way, I'd be very carefull to call the contest over. USA's known for their strong singles. If you knew anything about the Ryder cup, you would be familiar with this trend.

I think the singles will be remembered by Sutton's poor matchmaking. Putting the players down in chronological order based on qualification, just stupid really. Tiger vs Casey, a wasted paring really. Still no excuse for such a huge thumping, 9 points!

Either way, superb play by the Europeans. Can't remember the last time a European came close to winning a masters in the USA , so great performance on US soil. Really glad for Levet especially, great year for him.

If I had an edible hat, I'd be eating it right now 🙂

cheers

Europeans have won the Masters 8 times out of the last 16.

Any in the last 5 years at the Masters, last 10 at the PGA, or last 20 at the US open ? I think it's been pretty tough going last 10 or so years for Europe, precisely why this win (on US soil) comes as such an upset.

Yeah, but you happen to be including a timespan where Faldo and Ballesteros excelled in the Masters. If you consider the European performance in all 3 masters on US soil over the last 10 years, its pretty dismal 🙂
