1) Which team is gonna win and why?
2) Why do some American supporters insist on moronic shouts of in the hole!! when the ball is clearly heading into the trees?
3) What have the yanks got against Montie?
1.. USA. This European team is very weak and coming up against an in form US team. Tiger, Phil and a host of other US players will be on form.
2. Hehe, true that is stupid, but spend a day at Wentworth and you realise you'd rather be walking amoungst friendly-goofy golfing fans than that stiff upper lip Brits! Ever seen Ernie hit a 320 yard drive and no-one applauds ? (Well, no-one except that one goofy guy (urm .. me) )
3. Montie is a tool ! Simply put he thinks golf revolves around him. Probably as his father ran the golf club and everyone was in awe of him. Kinda like the Tim Henman of Golf. Someone who does ok, but nothing fantastic, but gets all the attention when at home.
Either way, hope Europe gets it again!"
Originally posted by pcaspianThe European team isn't very weak. True, Europeans have been underperforming in the majors for some years now and there's maybe fewer true stars than there were a decade ago, but the lowest ranked member of the team is 60 odd in the world, which is much higher than the equivalent players of back then. Quite a number of the European team are running into form nicely, while Mickleson apart I wouldn't say anyone in the US team has had a particularly spectacular season.

And the way you say 'I hope Europe gets it again' suggests they've got it a lot lately, which is maybe a rather selective reading of history.
As for Monty, he's a star. He's just too emotionally vulnerable, too articulate and too complex for the world of golf.

Well Mickelson has been up there in all the majors, Tiger (eventhough he lost his no 1 spot) certainly is better than last year this time, so gonna be tough.
Players in top 20
*************
2 Tiger Woods
4 Phil Mickelson
5 Davis Love III
10 Jim Furyk
12 Stewart Cink
14 Kenny Perry
15 Chad Campbell
8 Padraig Harrington
11 Sergio Garcia
16 Darren Clarke
Yes I know, Ryder cup has always been a bit mismatched, but this year I think it's gonna be tough for Eur.

Nope, merely saying they will win it like .. last time round.

Rich.
Perhaps, I don't think any of the European players are use to loud crowds.
What I would love to see is a 3 way competition between the USA, Europe and the rest of the world. Oh well, should be good fun to watch.
Originally posted by pcaspianErm, you're clearly confused. Last time Europe won. Paul McGinley's putt on the last green, come on now, you must remember...

Originally posted by pcaspianIn term of top ranked players the US is almost always well ahead of Europe, but the matches tend to be a lot closer than the rankings would suggest. After all the US were hot favourites the last time, with a much bigger advantage in terms of rankings than this time...but Europe won quite comfotably.

Was also played in Europe. As you may recall Tiger (and most other Americans) tend to perform alot better in the States. Either way true, Europe enters as underdogs again, can see them pulling it off again ?
Originally posted by pcaspianHmm, I'm confused. Do you mean 'gets it' as in 'on the receiving end of' or 'gets it' as in 'acquires it'. This English language thing is all too much for me.

No Rich, thats exactly what I said.

Hehe, even though I am supporting Europe, I think you may well turn me into a USA supporter!
Great day for Europe, blimey no idea why the USA is losing so badly, perhaps nerves, perhaps pressure, who knows. Montie is playing well, just hope his ego doesn't get the better of him. USA tends to make a comeback on the last day. Lets see if this proves to be the case again this time round.
Originally posted by pcaspianI think the problem goes to ego. The same thing that causes the "greatest athletes" in the world (usa basketball team) to lose to a team. They don't want to do anything to help the guy who is competing for money all but one week a year. They are "egoists".

Thank god. This is a true reflection of why the US will never give in to sociallism.
We are individuals with no interest in the greater good of the nation.
Thank God.
