I just want the government to help folks who have been forced out of the workforce or have illnesses they can't afford. The US is the richest country on the planet and if we can't do that we are a piss poor country.

How can someone be forced out of the workforce ?? There are 7M jobs available in 'the workforce'. I agree that people who are destitute and cannot take care of themselves should be supported by the government, there are about 40M of them, but add 2M illegal immigrants to that number.

You start out OK by typing that you work for a living pay taxes, and vote for the party of giveaway the liberal party. But you blow your cover by being in favor of taxpayers paying the debts of others. The latest ploy, though there are MANY, is paying loans of a student who borrowed it for tuition and housing and drinking beer and partying. So, he has a neeeeeeed,, and in Marx form, you need to find some people who can pay off the student's loan 'according to their abilities'. Hey Sonhouse, if you make $100K and I make $900k, do you think the govt will make me pay more towards the loans? That could be next. So, I will fire a few emplyees so that I can recoup part of the money.
