The term "douchebag" generally refers to a male with a certain combination of obnoxious characteristics related to attitude, social ineptitude, public behavior, or outward presentation.

You think it's ok to refer to an obnoxious man (while also calling him misogynist) by calling him after a feminine hygiene device. That is where the word came from and no one can claim ignorance of that. You do know the intention behind calling a person 'douche' or 'douchebag' you're attempting to belittle that person, that too is obvious by your post.
I don't have a problem with the word, used it myself on occasion, but I've never put on the self-righteous, ohh so sickly sweet sensitive to women act the way you pour it on.

If you want to discuss how a language evolves that's okay. But then douche had a meaning before vaginal douching. Which, by the way, is not the only way to douche.
