School Principal Turns Away Secret Service Agents

She thought they were ICE. They were actually searching for someone that had made threats against an unnamed public official.
The agents should have arrested her for obstruction and continued their investigation.

So eager to roll out the Brownshirts?

no, they dont

"President Trump’s administration has authorized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to carry out arrests in schools and churches, rescinding a guideline that prevented arrests in so-called “sensitive” areas.

The directive was issued by acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Benjamine Huffman on Monday, but announced in a ...[text shortened]... statement."

And the Chicago Public School system has protocols in place to deal with it.

These protocols protect kids.

What's next? The US military coming in and rousting kids?

That'll go over like a lead balloon.

Oh, look at Mr. Irony.

They are authorized to make arrests, not to gain entry just to question someone.

You guys don't even understand your own links.
Man, you are thick.
I've spent 30 years as a teacher in a variety of public schools.
If ANY law enforcement officers show up needing to talk to a student because they have been making threats, then that is the end of the story. It's not up to the principal to say no. This ain't 15th century France where people can claim sanctuary in a church or whatever.
If the student ended up shooting someone later you'd be the first to criticize cops for not doing their job.

How is refusing to let law enforcement question a student that has been making threats protecting the students?
Please explain, I'm curious what kind of mental gymnastics you are going to go through to justify it.

Actually, it is up to the principal, depending on the school district rules, to decide who to let in a school building absent a legal warrant.

The Chicago Public Schools backed the principal's decision, saying it conformed to district rules and the agents quietly left as they were legally required to do once permission to enter the building was denied:

"Regardless of which branch of Homeland Security visited this school, officials followed the established protocols to ensure student safety. The agents were not allowed into the school or permitted to speak with staff or students. Hamline administrators also worked with CPS' Law Department and CPS' Office of Safety and Security. The situation was handled with the federal agents leaving the campus without entry."

Got it. A directive from the Fuehrer. Still not the law.

@Cliff-Mashburn I feel sorry for your students. Let me guess. You taught……physical education, right?

And you cons (get it, cons, like in need of pardons) are what? Perfect? Easily led?

Biden used up all the pardons for his family

Well, he clearly left enough for the Fuehrer to pardon the traitors.

So....Schools need to protect students from the police by not allowing them on school property?
Will you people just listen to the nonsense you are spouting?
The sick mindset of the left is beyond belief.

The Secret Service wasn't there to "protect students". Neither will ICE be.

They were there to question someone that had been making online threats, sure sounds like they were trying to protect the students.
It was the principal that wasn't.

Online threats bitching about the TikTok ban; those were directed at someone who the Secret Service is protecting:

A spokesperson for the Secret Service said the agency "was investigating a threat to one of our protectees in reference to the recent TikTok ban."

"On Friday special agents from the United States Secret Service Chicago Field Office were investigating a threat made against a government official we protect," Anthony Guglielmi told NBC Chicago. "In the course of their investigation, agents first visited a residence in a local neighborhood and then made a visit to Hamline Elementary School. Agents identified themselves to the school principal and provided business cards with their contact information. The agents left without incident."

https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/secret-service-agents-responded-to-chicago-school-not-ice-agency-says/3655654/

So some kid bitching on social media about a national issue; nothing that requires an immediate entry into a school. The principal followed district policy as advised by its internal security and legal teams and the SS left quietly with ample opportunity to question the individual after school hours.

Maybe you should get some facts before spouting off.
